Rick Harig

Rick is in his second stint as the FHS Head Coach. He coached 22 seasons at Fairview (14 as FHS Head Coach and 20 as the Legion A Head Coach) before taking some time off to work with some college and professional players and teams. Harig also scouted part-time for 3 different MLB teams for 15 years during his first stint. In the Harig era, Fairview teams won 8 Legion A State Championships, one Spring State Title, and also appeared in the Western Region 8 Final Four 5 times, earning the team two trips to the American Legion World Series. When asked what he remembers most, Harig said, “The relationships with the players and their parents – the hardware sits on a shelf and collects dust, but the relationships last a lifetime.” After stepping down as the Head Coach four years ago, Harig created and developed Cognitive Advantage Program, LLC, otherwise known as CAP. CAP is a systematic performance and development coaching program that he has toured the country with. The San Diego Padres, the University of Nebraska, and Texas A&M were some of his more high profile clients. Harig continues to develop CAP, but at the same time, has the craving to also be on the field. If you are interested in finding out more about CAP go to www.baseball-cap.net. Rick prides himself in preparing baseball players for the next level not only with skill development, but also with the mental edge that will carry them throughout all aspects of their lives.

Additionally, Coach Costello guided Brighton in their transition from the 4A ranks to 5A, overseeing a number of projects including the Rockies Field of Dreams and Major Leagues Baseball’s installation of lights on Duke White Field. Sean is a passionate student as well as teacher of the game, and has worked with some of the best high school, college, and professional coaches throughout the country.

Jeff Waymire

Jeff returns to Fairview after 8 years as the infield and hitting coach at the University of California, at San Diego (UCSD). Fairview had 9 straight years of shortstops that went on to play Division I baseball and Coach Waymire was an integral part of the players’ development. As one of the top infield coaches in the country, Waymire developed a defense at UCSD that was the #1 rated NCAA defense in the nation in 2003 and 10th all-time! He was also the infield coach at UC Riverside (played there also) from 1993-1994 helping the Highlanders to the Division II World Series. A native of San Diego, Jeff has played with, learned from, and instructed many players that have made it to the Majors. Success follows him wherever he goes. For example, in his years coaching in Colorado, Waymire coached teams won two State “A” Legion titles and an NBC Semi-pro state title and runner-up Regional finish.
